Qatar

Qatar is a pioneer in facing any threats to world peace and is one of the first countries that issued a counter-terrorism law. Qatar has an inspiring experience in the field of security, as it is the most secure in the Middle East and North Africa region, according to the indicators issued by various international institutions. His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani ratified cabinet decision no. 41 for 2019 on the executive regulations of Law no. 20 for 2019 on countering money laundering and terrorism.

Qatar has remained committed to fighting those two crimes, and praised the country's efforts in enhancing international peace and security. The new executive regulations reflect Qatar's leading role in countering the main threats facing the world as well as the country's commitment to the stability of the region. Qatar's position will remain firm in rejecting violence and extremism.

The legislations introduced by Qatar reflect the political will to counter-terrorism and will make Qatar an important role model in the field. The new laws and executive regulations are inspired by the vision of H.H. the Amir to work as part of the global community in its efforts to counter-terrorism. Law no. 20 for 2019 was preceded by several agreements that Qatar was keen to sign to contribute to combating terrorism in all its forms, with the last of these agreements being the one signed with the United States of America.

Qatar firmly believes in the importance of implementing international agreements, and the necessity of joint work by all members of the international community to end the threat of terrorism.
