The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement made by Dr Majid bin Muhammad Al Ansari, its official spokesman, at the weekly media briefing on 4 June 2024.

Dr Majid urged the international community to pressure the Israeli and Palestinian parties to accept the proposal announced by US President Joe Biden to end the war in the Gaza Strip and the proposed plan to exchange prisoners between the two sides.

Furthermore, he emphasized that it is crucial that the situation is addressed via negotiation and dialogue instead of resorting to military solutions, as it does not reap results. He also stressed the need to bring in humanitarian aid quickly.

Dr Majid also stated that the negotiations between the Hamas movement and the Israeli occupation forces, under Qatari, Egyptian and American sponsorship, are closely aligned with the principles set by US President Joe Biden, as he mentioned recently and are clear aspects for negotiations.
