The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change announced on 22 June 2024 that it had seized 2 violating boats in the Al Khor area. The violations included throwing fishing nets on coral reefs. The Marine Protection Department issued violations to the two boats and referred them to the relevant authorities.
قامت وزارة البيئة والتغير المناخي بضبط قاربين مخالفين بمنطقة الخور، تمثلت المخالفات بإلقاء شباك الصيد على الشعاب المرجانية، حيث قامت إدارة الحماية البحرية بتحرير المخالفات للقاربين، وإحالتهما للجهات المعنية .

The Marine Protection Department calls on the public to preserve the marine environment, not throw waste into the water, not use prohibited fishing tools such as multi-layered nylon fishing nets, and not fish in coral reef areas or prohibited areas.
