Engineering Solutions, a technical development company based in Qatar that provides solutions to improve driving in Doha and wireless communications systems for companies in the oil and gas industry!
Engineering Solutions is another unique startup in Qatar that’s making a name for itself in the tech industry. Its focus is in two main areas of engineering: road safety & driver training and wireless communications systems. Engineering Solutions engineers, installs and commissions high integrity solutions, such as wireless communication links onshore and offshore mostly in the realm of oil and gas. Their two main areas of expertise in wireless communications include Wireless Mesh Networks and Microwave Radio Links.
Founded at Qatar Science and Technology Park (QSTP) by Emad Khader, Raffat Zreik, Sara Khorasani in 2010, one of Engineering Solutions’ main goals is to develop and implement technology-based solutions to improve driver safety and training standards across Qatar. Their core activities include: designing and manufacturing advanced driving simulators, developing a simulator based training course and training instructors to create an intensive high-risk driving course tailored for Qatar.
“The simulator is a safe place to experience dangerous situations that would be life threatening on the road,” said representatives from Engineering Solutions. “So, we repeatedly place students in these circumstances (such as a tire blowout) to perfect the necessary skills to deal with such situations.”
QSTP has also been a contributing factor in the development of Engineering Solutions. “Being here really makes us feel like we are part of Qatar’s vision to be a knowledge based economy,” said a spokesperson.
Currently, Engineering Solutions hosts a workshop in QSTP and have more than 10 simulators in the Qatar market. Their clients include three top driving schools in Qatar as well as research entities such as Qatar University and Qatar Petroleum. Their team has grown to include skilled engineers and interns that helped them grow, develop, and overcome financial challenges.
