In honour of Qatar National Day 2017, Embrace Doha welcomed the first visitors on Wednesday, December 13, to ‘Labaih Ya Amir’ or, ‘Roger that, Emir’ at Katara Cultural Village. Aiming to enrich cultural experiences for expats living in Qatar, Embrace Doha has long been an organizer of events and activities that unite the community and promote cross-cultural understanding.

There will be falconry displays, handicraft demonstrations, Arabic calligraphy, henna, and a traditional majlis set up. Offering a chance for the public to interact with Qatari cultural displays, there will also be stage performances showcasing traditional Ardah dances, military shows, poetry readings, and an ‘Express Your Love’ Kids Club where children and youth can write their messages of love to His Highness, the Emir.

A new highlight this year, is the Souq Al Fareej – or ‘The Local Market’, an area where local startups, spear-headed by the Qatar Business Incubation Center (QBIC), will be hosted. It’s a chance for the public to explore, interact, and learn more about the local businesses that the driving force behind Qatar’s push towards self-sufficiency in the wake of the political and trade embargo.
