As per The Peninsula, Qatar has achieved good rankings on various global indices as per the 2024 World Competitiveness Booklet published by the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Switzerland.
Qatar ranked 11th out of 67 countries in the 2024 World Competitiveness Report. Qatar achieved rank 4 in economic performance, 7 in government efficiency, 11 in business efficiency, and 33 in infrastructure.
Within the government efficacy factor, Qatar topped in the consumption tax rate and personal income rate and ranked second in the public finance index.
Qatar claimed the first position in the effectiveness of corporate boards and migrant stock and secured the second position globally in the working hours index. It was also ranked in the top in the subfactors of energy infrastructure and the number of internet users per 1,000 people. As per the report, Qatar has excelled in the business efficiency factor of the World Competitiveness Booklet.
The country is in the fourth position in terms of economic performance, with the highest rankings in unemployment rate, youth unemployment rate, and terms of trade index.
