One of the oldest private higher education institutions in the country - Al Rayyan International University College (ARIU), proudly announces the celebration of its 21st graduation ceremony, marking over two decades of academic excellence. ARIU held its 21st Graduation Ceremony in partnership with the esteemed University of Derby which took place on 9 June 2024 and marked a momentous milestone for ARIU, emphasizing its commitment to delivering top-tier university-level education in the fields of international business, tourism management, and hospitality management.

Under the distinguished patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani, whose visionary leadership laid the foundation for establishing Qatar's first private university. The ceremonybrought together esteemed guests, including university board members, ambassadors, faculty, staff, andproud parents, to celebrate the remarkable achievements of the graduates and wish them success in theirfuture endeavours.

The graduation ceremony served as a testament to the hard work and unwavering dedication of the graduating students, who represented diverse nationalities and backgrounds. Fifty students were awarded their Bachelor's and Master's degrees, reaffirming the excellence and rigorous academic standards upheld by ARIU and the University of Derby. The degrees were awarded by H.E. Professor Ibrahim Al Nuaimi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Qatar, Professor Kamil Omoteso, Pro-Vice Chancellor and Dean of the College of Business, Law and Social Sciences at the University of Derby, Professor Khalid Al Sulaiti, General Director of Katara Cultural Village Foundation, and Professor Ivan Ninov, Dean of ARIU.

H.E. Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani has sent his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the graduates and their families for this significant achievement. He has highlighted the outstanding educational opportunities provided to university students in the State of Qatar: “Our beloved country, Qatar, continues to invest in developing the education sector and to providing its citizens with the skills and knowledge to enhance their ability to compete on a global level. Qatar is distinguished by the best educational institutions and curricula and has worked to attract some of the best and most distinguished international universities. These are recognized as an important platform to prepare students to engage in the labor market and facilitate the process of gaining real-world experience through training and participation in various student activities, all of which enhances their abilities and enriches their university experience”.

Professor Kamil Omoteso, Pro Vice Chancellor and Dean of the Business College, Law, and Social Sciences at the University of Derby, congratulated the graduates and emphasized the quality of education which they have received: " Today is a day of celebration, but I would also like us to reflect upon the value of your outstanding achievements. The University of Derby is extremely proud of its reputation as a global University that delivers high-quality teaching and outstanding opportunities for its students. Our longstanding reputation for teaching excellence received national recognition in 2023, with the University being awarded Gold – the highest possible status – in the latest Teaching Excellence Framework by the government’s Department for Education.
