Looking for a uniquely indulgent culinary journey? At the new Mondrian Doha, seek and ye shall find. The recently-opened property from luxury global hospitality brand sbe, adds a striking new landmark to Doha’s ever-growing skyline, with its unique falcon-inspired exterior structure and a bespoke whimsical interior crafted from the iconic mind of visionary designer Marcel Wanders.

The property also boasts some exciting new culinary experiences from some of the world’s top Michelin-starred chefs as they make their first foray into Qatar’s culinary market. Now open at the Mondrian Doha (much to the joy of Qatar’s foodie faithful) is CUT by Wolfgang Puck. One of the world’s most sought-after casual dining restaurants from celebrity Chef Wolfgang Puck, his outlet at the Mondrian Doha offers an inspired twist to his usual offerings globally. Boasting the finest cuts of beef from around the world, discerning diners can also indulge in comfort foods such as pasta and wood-fired oven pizzas, as well as the freshest offerings of seafood and shellfish.

CUT’s architecture is as much a marvel as its menu, outfitted in hues of pure white with colourful accents inspired by the Qatari sunset. “I’m thrilled with my new endeavour at Mondrian Doha,” expresses Chef Wolfgang Puck. “In 2006 I opened [the first] CUT, which after only one year earned a prestigious Michelin star among numerous other top accolades. This new venture is not like anything seen before. CUT Doha delivers innovation at every level through its unique culinary, service, and design combination with a menu that showcases my philosophy of offering only the finest selection of ingredients, cooked simply and presented beautifully.”

In keeping with Chef Wolfgang Puck’s mantra of ‘Live, Love, Eat’, CUT Doha sources the finest global ingredients – serving breakfast daily, and soon to be launched an exquisite Friday brunch best enjoyed on the restaurant’s sprawling terrace overlooking the Arabian Sea.

Standing shoulder-to-shoulder with CUT by Wolfgang Puck at the Mondrian Doha is celebrity Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto, whose Morimoto Doha restaurant marks the prolific chef’s first restaurant in the Middle East. With a luscious fusion of Japanese and Western styles of cuisine, Morimoto Doha is a full-on sensory experience. Known for his acclaimed take on food presentation, Chef Morimoto is one of the world’s few chefs to be inducted into the Culinary Hall of Fame.

The restaurant’s glittering décor is inspired by the traditional Japanese city of Nara and showcases original artworks by Hiroshi Senju – and we especially love its iconic elemental waterfall murals. Morimoto Doha’s menu is as sumptuous as it is unconventional, serving up unusual yet classic dishes featuring unparalleled Japanese ingredients.

Foodies can delight in an inspired selection of sushi and an assortment of the freshest seafood, alongside luscious Japanese Wagyu steak and traditional dishes such as nourishing hot pots, teppanyaki, comforting rice dishes, and hearty duck dishes.

“I’ve created a bridge between the culinary traditions of my native Japan and the international palate, bringing perfectly-balanced flavours,” says Chef Morimoto. “At age 24 I opened my first restaurant before moving to the U.S. to expand my culinary repertoire and explore the possibilities for a cuisine that would combine the best of both cultures. With Morimoto Doha, my first restaurant in the Middle East, I aspire to make guests live an extraordinary dining experience.”

Alongside these two flagship culinary destinations at the Mondrian Doha are six other food and dining outlets that promise to tantalize and indulge. Hudson Tavern is the newest social scene in Doha, offering an urban escape and serving up some of Doha’s best craft burgers and a menu that screams comfort food – think poutine, chili cheese fries, in a lively setting, perfect for dinning with friends and family. While Walima is a unique Arabic Qatari restaurant catering to the highlights and traditions of the local cuisine. Iconic New York patisserie Magnolia Bakery has also opened its 4th location in Doha at Mondrian Doha, and to heat up the nightlife scene in Doha, there is RISE situated on the 27th floor overlooking the lavish pool, the ultimate place to enjoy sunset cocktails, while and the nocturnal Black Orchid will cater to Qatar’s after-hours club crowd.

Overseeing the Mondrian Doha’s epicurean emporium is Executive Chef Simon John Winchester who looks forward to shaking up Qatar’s food and dining scene with the property’s exceptional roster of culinary talent. “We’re ecstatic to introduce these two establishments [CUT by Wolfgang Puck and Morimoto Doha] to Doha for the first time,” he says. “Both CUT and Morimoto fit perfectly into the Mondrian ethos of international allure. These restaurants also perfectly complement our other international and local culinary offerings.”
