#QTip: How often do Qatari's change their thobe?

#QTip: How often do Qataris change their thobes?

I guess that this is because we keep our thobes so white. So we've been asked how often we change. The truth is, we only really wear one thobe a day, unless of course we've messed it up, then we've got to rush home to change.

I guess we're extra careful! Like ninjas.... yeah... Arabian Ninjas, except we wear white... not black... and we're not as stealthy.

QTip: Saying hello to strangers (and friends too)

QTip: Saying hello to strangers (and friends too)

13,732

It's very normal to say hello to strangers. You might see someone walk into a room or walking passed you and hear them say Salam (which means peace and is a greeting). It's part of the friendly culture to greet people even if you don't know them. Of course when it's a friend you see, the greeting would last much longer. Make sure you assess the situation though. You don't want to disturb someone especially when they are with family. So don't be shy, say hello/salam.

We've got Oud, Dihn Al Oud, Bukhoor, Perfume and Flowers.

What's your favourite?

Smelling good is something that's very important in the Qatari social circle. That's probably why there are so many fragrance shops and perfumeries in the country. Now go out there and spray a couple of puffs of your favourite perfume!

Note: since people asked, Mr. Q uses Escada Magnetism.

1- Affaaa - Typically used to express disappointment

2- Bal! - An expression of shock or excitement - Watch out when you use it though, because it's kind of like the polar opposite of "MashAllah"
