Photography exhibition "Symbol of Unity" — Tuesday, Dec. 12

In honor of Qatar National Day, a photography exhibition curated and put together by Russian photographer Maria Ovsyannikova, will show you a different side of Qatar.

Titled “The Symbol of Unity”, the exhibition is in support of Qatar and its people during the Gulf crisis, and reflects the oneness of the nation.

Labaih Ya Amir — Tuesday, Dec. 12 - Tuesday, Dec. 19

Labaih Ya Amir, organized by Embrace Doha, is a National Day event taking place at Katara this year! The event is inspired by the Emir’s speeches and his call to the people of Qatar to show steadfastness and morals, and to focus on societal development and the nation in various fields. “Labaih Ya Amir”, translates to “Roger that, Emir”.

There will be cultural booths that highlight Qatar’s history and culture; from traditional majlis, to Qatari hospitality, falconry and traditional handicrafts. Acaas Al Fareej (traditional photo booth), Arabic calligraphy, henna and traditional food will give the public an opportunity to interact and immerse into the culture. The stage will showcase the Ardah, military shows, traditional dances and poetry performed by local school students. The event will offer many activities for kids, from stage activities to arts and crafts at the Kids Club and ‘Express Your Love’, dedicated for kids to express their love to Qatar through coloring and handwritten messages.

National Day Celebration at Katara — Tuesday, Dec. 12 - Tuesday, Dec. 19

Katara Cultural Village will host Qatar National Day activities from today to December 19! The decorations are already in place — so make sure to check it out soon!

Qatar Foundation: Qatar National Day celebrations — Tuesday, Dec. 12 - Wednesday, Dec. 20

The Qatar Foundation tent at Darb Al Saai will be open until December 20.

A number of QF centers and partner universities are also set to host activities at the QF tent. Some of these are Qatar Career Development Centre, where children can learn about different jobs and professions; Hamad Bin Khalifa University Press, where visitors can make their own books; and Georgetown University in Qatar, which will offer guests the chance to assemble a giant jigsaw puzzle in the shape of Qatar, as well as participate in an educational world map activity.

People can visit the tent from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm and from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm, Saturday to Thursday, while on Fridays it will open from 2:00 pm. The evening of December 13 will be for ladies only.

The Dignity Image — Tuesday, Dec. 12 - Saturday, Dec. 16

An event for the Guinness World Records! Qatar’s Police College will participate in the celebration and launch the biggest portrait of Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani named “The Dignity Image” at Darb Al Saai!

More than 14,000 people would be required to color the biggest portrait of Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani called “The Dignity Image” in order to make it to the it to Guinness World Records. The portrait will then be presented as a gift to H H the Emir from the people as an expression of loyalty.

Qatar National Day mangroves and flamingo kayaking — Tuesday, Dec. 12 - Monday, Dec. 18
