On the evening of October 16, 2017, a bright meteor was spotted passing over the sky above Doha. Residents of Qatar took to social media to share their accounts of the celestial phenomenon!
If you missed it, you still have a chance to spot it! The Orionid meteor shower is back and, according to howstuffworks, the best time for watching the Orionids this year is late on Friday, Oct. 20, extending into the early morning hours of Saturday, Oct. 21 and Sunday, Oct. 22. This is when astronomers predict the peak number of meteors will be visible in the sky.
