There’s many sayings that can frame the discussion on health – ‘An apple a day keeps the doctor away’, or ‘Health is wealth’ are just two that spring to mind. It’s no secret that Qatar, like any country, faces challenges when it comes to ensuring its population remains healthy for life. From dietary concerns, to diabetes, and the health complications that stem from the tradition of smoking shisha, these are all challenges that Qatar has worked to address through the creation of world-class programs and facilities that aim to support and foster a culture of health.

In this week’s edition of QToons, Temsa7 cartoonist Abdulaziz Yousef explores themes that link to health in Qatar – from the social pressure to indulge in shisha, to navigating the healthcare system for the first time for newcomers, and how diet impacts health.
