Grapplers Quest champion Tyrone Gooden will be in town until the 20th of this month teaching regular classes but in “seminar” format. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn from and train with one of the best there is. Tyrone Gooden is a BJJ Machado blackbelt with an extensive stand up martial arts background.

The un-official team Qatar BJJ team has gone to Abu Dhabi and performed, in my opinion quite well.
Aqil, Pete, Mohammed H, Jamal and I went to Abu Dhabi over this past weekend and competed against teams from A.D., Jordan, Russia, Bahrain, Saudi, America, U.K. New Zealand and a few other places.
Although none of our guys made it to the second round I still hold the opinion that our team did very well. I say this because for the most part our guys actually performed better technically than their competitors. Jamal won his first round then went on to the second fight and lost by two points, in that time he dominated his opponent taking him from one submission position to anther. he nearly had his back then went on to nearly omopalata his opponent who was a whopping 20kg heavier than him. Hey, hello, Salams, comosta! (add your country’s greeting here).
First off I want to again apologize for leaving you guys for so long without posting but the world is a distracting and sometimes disappointing place and I am a person like the rest of you.. Subject to the ups and the downs and the highs and the lows and those close to me know that I have had a rough ride since getting here to Doha.
Well first off I want to give a fat hello to all of our new guys. We have a HUGE crew of regulars now and things are looking up for the future. To all of the people we have lost due to moves or work or whatever then know for sure you are missed and we hope to see you on the mats again in the future. Read the rest of this entry »
